As founder of the first non-attorney nationwide Social Security disability claims services company in the country more than 24 years ago, Jim has a long history of interaction with Social Security Administration officials on a variety of policies and initiatives. His continuing goal is to protect the rights of individuals with disabilities, improve disability processes, encourage employers' efforts to support their workers, and provide needed solutions for improving fast, and fair access to Social Security Disability Insurance and Medicare.
Jim was active in advocating for legislative clarification of the 1993 Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act, which mandated Medicare pay primary over employers for non-working disabled employees. He also has testified before the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives and their committees on these and other issues.
