Allsup Provides Social Security Disability Insurance Screenings at St. Louis Lupus Walk Saturday
Missouri ranks 12th among states with the most backlogged pending SSDI claims
Belleville, Ill.-April 28, 2015-Allsup, a nationwide provider of Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) representation, will provide information and eligibility screenings at the Lupus Foundation of America Heartland Chapter's St. Louis Walk to End Lupus Now! The event is scheduled for Saturday, May 2, from 3 to 6:30 p.m. at Carondolet Park.
Nationwide, almost 1.5 million people experience significant tissue damage, organ failure, disability and death due to lupus, according to the Lupus Foundation of America (LFA).
Many individuals with lupus are unable to continue working just a few years after diagnosis. They may be eligible for the SSDI benefits they paid for during their working years.
SSDI is an important resource for individuals with lupus. However, more than two-thirds of initial SSDI applications are denied. Appeals can take several months or years.
With 27,574 pending claims, Missouri is ranked 12th among the states in the number of backlogged SSDI claims in 2014.. See Allsup's state-by-state disability backlog ranking here.
Having expert SSDI representation can help individuals with lupus get approved sooner at the initial and appeal levels. For more information on lupus and SSDI eligibility, call the Allsup Disability Evaluation Center at (888) 841-2126.
St. Louis Walk participants will be able to visit the Cruel Mystery Tour Bus-a 45-foot bus featuring eight interactive exhibits where visitors can experience what it's like to face lupus.
