Allsup Provides Social Security Disability Screenings at Walk MS Events in April
Team Allsup joins with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society to raise funds and awareness to help people with MS live their best lives
Belleville, Ill.-April 7, 2015-More than 400,000 Americans live with multiple sclerosis (MS), an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system, according to the National MS Society. Allsup, a nationwide Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) representation company based in Belleville, Illinois, is pleased to sponsor Walk MS events taking place April 18 in St. Peters, Missouri, April 19 in St. Louis, and April 26 in Edwardsville, Illinois.
Allsup representatives will be on site to provide SSDI eligibility and veterans disability appeal screenings.
"MS is the number one disabling disease among young adults in the U.S.," said Allsup manager of Strategic Alliances, Tai Venuti. "A lot of people with MS keep working long after their diagnosis, but for some, working full-time is no longer an option. For them, SSDI is an important resource that provides more than just a monthly income."
One of the additional benefits of SSDI is the Ticket to Work program. With the help of an Employment Network, SSDI beneficiaries who want to return to work, can receive job coaching and get connected with employers. Combined with disease-modifying drugs, new technologies and better symptom management, Ticket to Work can help individuals with MS return to the workforce even if they have not been able to work for more than a year.
Information on Ticket to Work and local Employment Network, Allsup Employment Services, Inc. will also be available at the Walk MS events.
