The story highlights that increased awareness and participation in the Ticket to Work Program could generate an estimated $250 billion or more in long-term savings for the Social Security trust funds by helping more beneficiaries successfully return to work.
The Ticket to Work Program, established in 1999, is a free and voluntary program that provides work incentives and no-cost employment support to eligible beneficiaries as they return to the workforce. Although there are more than 7.1 million Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) recipients, survey data show only 33 percent are aware of the program.
