iHeart Radio Podcast Spotlights A Modernized SSDI System With CEO Jim Allsup

HELLO FUTURE with Kevin Cirilli discusses the role of technology with Jim Allsup, CEO of Allsup and Allsup Employment Services

Belleville, Illinois — Nov. 24, 2025 —Allsup Founder and CEO Jim Allsup joined iHeartMedia’s HELLO FUTURE with Kevin Cirilli to discuss how artificial intelligence (AI) and modern technology can improve the Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) experience for individuals with disabilities.

During the interview, Jim Allsup described how his experience working at the Social Security Administration (SSA) shaped his mission to improve the SSDI process for claimants. “What I observed is the disability system and Social Security was and still remains extremely abusive to the public,” he said. “These are the people you should be helping the most, and instead our government’s system gives them a backhand.”

Allsup explained how the SSDI application process is extremely complex and lacks clear guidance. “You’ve got a system that was designed intentionally to be difficult. That’s part of the reason why it’s abusive,” said Allsup. “So, everything we do is simplifying the complex.”

AI tools and the company’s online platform, empower by Allsup®, helps streamline the Social Security disability application and appeals process, offering guided audio- and video-based support that stands in contrast to SSA’s outdated systems. Allsup noted that these innovations are especially vital for individuals with severe health conditions, many of whom struggle with complex forms and long wait times.

The interview also covered the Ticket to Work Program, a federal initiative that helps Social Security disability beneficiaries return to work when medically able. Jim Allsup, who participated in the original hearings that shaped the program’s legislation, emphasized its growing importance as medical advancements enable more individuals to regain work capacity. “The issue is it has to be reformed so those that qualify for benefits will get benefits quickly, but they also get back to work quickly,” he said.

He highlighted that Allsup’s technology is already built around this approach. “We believe you’re eligible for benefits for these reasons. But also, barring complications, we believe you’re going to be able to go back to work. So, we can do this to qualify you for benefits, and we’ll also do this to get you back to work. We will do both,” said Allsup.
