Allsup’s “Flying Pigs” Help Raise Awareness At St. Louis Lupus Walk Saturday At Carondelet Park

Flying pig stress toys promote disability literacy

Belleville, Ill. — May 2, 2016 — Allsup, a nationwide provider of Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) representation, will provide disability screenings at the Lupus Foundation of America Heartland Chapter’s St. Louis Walk to End Lupus Now! The event is scheduled for Saturday, May 7, from 3 to 6:30 p.m. at Carondelet Park. Participants visiting the Allsup booth will be able to “make pigs fly” for a chance to win one of the winged stress toys.

Nationwide, almost 1.5 million people experience significant tissue damage, organ failure, disability and death due to lupus, according to the Lupus Foundation of America (LFA).

Many individuals with lupus are unable to continue working just a few years after diagnosis and may be eligible for the SSDI benefits they paid for during their working years.

However, more than two-thirds of initial SSDI applications are denied. Appeals can take several months or years. Having expert SSDI representation can help individuals with lupus get approved sooner at the initial and appeal levels.

Allsup is pleased to support LFA events throughout the country, and Allsup’s flying pigs have become a familiar presence.
