Allsup Supports Inclusive Disability Policies

National SSDI representation company sponsors “Education for All” event in Washington, D.C.

Belleville, Ill. — Feb. 23, 2016 — Allsup, a nationwide Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) representation company, is a sponsor of the Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD) “Education for All” celebration, March 2, in Washington D.C.

“The AUCD has advocated for more inclusive disability policies in education and employment for 45 years,” said Mary Dale Walters, senior vice president of Strategic Communications for Allsup.

“Allsup’s company mission is to empower individuals with disabilities to lead lives that are as financially secure and healthy as possible. We deeply appreciate the impact AUCD and its network of centers throughout the country have had in improving the lives of individuals with disabilities, their families and their communities.”

The AUCD works on issues relevant to the employment of people with disabilities, including facilitating employment of individuals receiving Social Security disability benefits. An Allsup subsidiary, Allsup Employment Services, is a Social Security-approved Employment Network, and helps individuals who receive SSDI return to work.

According to the AUCD, 11 million people with disabilities and their families rely on Social Security for their survival.  Workers who pay Social Security taxes and become unable to work due to disability, may qualify for SSDI benefits. People with disabilities may receive Social Security retirement, survivor, dependent, or disability benefits based on their work history, age, or eligibility category.  The AUCD works to ensure that the Social Security Act and its programs remain solvent and strong.
