Case Managers Celebrate ‘Together We Grow’ During National Case Management Week, Oct. 9-16
Allsup joins Case Management Society of America in weeklong celebration of case managers’ important contributions throughout U.S. healthcare system
Belleville, Illinois — Oct. 5, 2016 — Case managers provide year-round essential caregiving efforts for their patients, as well as support to healthcare providers, payers and the general public, according to the Case Management Society of America (CMSA). CMSA and Allsup will recognize case managers during National Case Management Week, Oct. 9-15. Allsup is a nationwide provider of Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) representation, veterans disability appeal, and Medicare plan selection services.
The CMSA’s 2016 theme is “Together We Grow,” which emphasizes the efforts, achievements and sustenance provided by case managers to the entire healthcare system through their hard work, dedication and compassion.
“Case Management is the true healthcare reform. Our focus is to ensure everyone knows about our practice—we need to not be the best kept secret in the field,” said CMSA National Executive Director Kathleen Fraser, MSN, MHA, RN-BC, CCM, CRRN.
National Case Management Week also helps to educate the public about case management as a career field and increase the awareness of case managers’ significance to ensure quality healthcare is provided to patients, healthcare providers and payers. The Case Management Society of America advances the profession by helping improve understanding and awareness of case managers’ impact, promoting training and communication within the healthcare profession, and engaging in important policy initiatives in Washington, D.C.
“Case managers are more vital than ever today in their efforts to reduce the fragmentation of the services patients receive and advance the evolving processes within our national healthcare system,” said CMSA President Mary McLaughlin-Davis. “National Case Management Week allows us the opportunity to share the important contributions of all of our members and demonstrate these valuable services to our communities.”
Resources for individuals, employers, policy makers and others are available at www.cmsa.org. CMSA’s Annual Conference & Expo will be held June 26-30, 2017, in Austin, Texas.
