Allsup Expert Discusses Getting SSDI Approval With Long COVID Disability Claims In CNBC Report
The long COVID numbers continue to climb with Brookings Institute reporting 2-4 million Americans, ages 18-65, are out of work due to the lasting effects of COVID.
This creates financial hardships for those suffering who are no longer able to work. In an interview with CNBC, T.J. Geist, Allsup principal advocate, explains how Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) can provide monthly income if these individuals meet Social Security’s eligibility criteria.
Allsup is seeing about 4%-5% of monthly cases related to COVID or long COVID. Geist cites that the cases with the most success are those with more severe conditions that may result in long-term organ failure. While the approval process can take months, maybe even years, Geist says that having accurate, up-to-date medical information is vital in moving the approvals forward.
